With the release in early 2012 of the PEQ-2A Pultec style EQ plugin, linuxDSP defined new possibilities for pro-audio production using linux. Pultec EQs have earned a deserved reputation as an essential piece of studio equipment. Following on from this achievement, Mac OS X and Windows versions have now been released, under the linuxDSP 'OverTone' brand.

Inspired by the classic vintage EQP-1A units, the plugins feature a transformer-coupled valve (tube) amplifier emulation combined with separate boost and attenuate controls, allowing simultaneous low frequency boost and cut, replicating the signature Pultec sounds.

Innovative DSP technology provides a de-cramped mid-boost with a more analogue characteristic than conventional digital filters, while Physical Control Weighting adds physical properties to the user interface, replicating the 'feel' as well as the look of high quality rotary controls.
