New Drivers

There are some cases where the class-compliant driver in some Behringer USB mixers may not work properly with Mac operating systems. You may see it show up as two separate drivers when trying to use it with your DAW. One driver contains the audio inputs, and the other driver contains the audio outputs.

Hi everyone; So; i m trying to use the behringer as an audio interface to record. I connect it via usb to my mac book and record a session in Logic x (2 mics, 2 instruments). The thing is; i m not getting any output signal when i use the control room output (connecting my pa via the control room out slots at the back of the behringer). I getting sound from all the other devices that i connect to the behringer (microphone etc.) but not from my mac book via usb. It works when i use the main output (connecting my pa via xld to the 'main out' at the back of the behringer) somehow the combination: usb and control room out doesn't work.

Tx a lotHi Peter, Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a block diagram for the 1622USB so it's difficult to tell for sure how USB is being routed internally.

I did find this under USB on Page 14 of the manual: 'Audio being sent to the mixer from a computer can be routed to the main mix with the 2-TR/USB TO MAIN button.' From looking at the block diagram of the non-USB version (page 3 of this document: ) it looks like the routing to Control Room Out is controlled by a button called 'Main Mix/CD-Tape'.

Hope this helps, Ken. Hey ken; TX a lot.

Behringer

Also die looking up in zur Manual. I ll try it out; though I kinda tried every possible knob kombination. Thanks a lotHi Peter, It's possible that the USB Returns are only routed to the Main Outs and not to the monitor bus. Have you tried the headphones out vs. The control room out? It seems reasonable that you'd want to have a DAW generate a click track and send it to the headphones. However, worked with someone a few months back that was trying to send 2-Track In to a computer using the USB Sends and we found out, through a lot of experimentation, that 2-Track isn't routed to the USB Sends.

Without a block diagram it's hard to tell. HI Ken; again; thank you very much. I have no monitors connected - just trying to get the signal via headphones. Okay; again; i connected the behringer via usb to my mac book; chose the behringer as my in and output source. When i play music on my mac book (logic or i tunes) I m getting a very very quiet signal via headphones. 'Audio being sent to the mixer from a computer can be routed to the main mix with the 2-TR/USB TO MAIN button.' Yes; but; just very very quiet; i have to raise the main output to max and turn the little knob above the main volume controllers almost all the way up to get a very quiet signal.

'From looking at the block diagram of the non-USB version (page 3 of this document: ) it looks like the routing to Control Room Out is controlled by a button called 'Main Mix/CD-Tape'. Yes; i looked at the picture - it s the non usb version - theres also no signal on the main mix meter on the behringer really curious why it doesn't work.i really want to use this mixer as an interface for my mac book to record our band rehearsal.maybe i should buy a different one. It also sends out only one stereo lane.i d prefer some more and tx again for your time. I also searched for a driver for my mac for that specific mixer on this site here; and there seems to be no mac driver.Hi Peter, I suspect the original intent of the USB I/O for these mixers was to facilitate recording of the Main Mix to a computer or for playing backing tracks to Main Out for live performance. Again, without a block diagram and/or a tech spec there's no way to tell for sure what's going on.

The fact that you are getting very quiet audio is strange. I'd either expect good signal or nothing. Since you're on a Mac, can you run Audio MIDI Setup and check the output level of the mixer's USB outputs?

As far as drivers for mac. They aren't needed. Apple implemented what is called CoreAudio starting with OS X 10.3 so as long as the device is CoreAudio compliant (many are) you don't need anything special.

As a workaround you could get a UMC202HD and go analog between the 202HD and 1622 and just forget about the USB on the 1622. If you want to implement full on band recording you could take a look at the X Air X18/XR18 but that's a big jump from the 1622.

Recently just got the behringer x1204 mixer and was told at guitar center by the audio pro I can use it in pro tools 11. However, when I try to open pro tools it blocks me out and says to plug the inter face in. So i cant even get to teh setup screen to change anything in order to use teh mixer. Uh oh 'Audio Pro' and 'Guitar Center' in the same sentence. Oh and any lack of even a hint about what computer you are using.

I'm predicting this is not going to go well for you. Your mixer is stereo USB Out only, it has very limited use with a DAW, basically just recording the analog mixer mix-down. Is that what you want to do? I can't guess what platform you are on, this is class compliant on OS X and needs ASIO4ALL on Windows. If on Windows did you install ASIO4ALL? If so start up Pro Tools and hold down the N key and keep it held down until he playback engine dialog panel appears then select the mixer as the playback engine, it may be called ASIO4ALL. Overall if you are after an audio interface for recording multiple inputs with Pro Tools this ain't it.
